Developing a secure Web-based extranet that could serve a national constituency of customers and brokers with detailed information about coverage and status of claims was the task facing Vero Business Systems Analyst, Terry Naughton in 2003. This is when he first investigated Wweb-based reporting products. "We simply searched the Web for products that met our criteria and found that LogiXML fit my needs quite nicely," notes Naughton. "We did not have a large development team or an unlimited budget, so the ability to easily generate the reports ourselves and to build them quickly was highly important. We chose LogiXML's Info product and built the initial set of reports in 2003. We have continually and easily added new reports, as needed, using the LogiXML platform's ease-of-use features like the report generation wizard."
"Another key criterion was security. As an organization, Vero recognizes the responsibility to keep customer information safe in all our processes. Implementing an extranet system over the Web is a great convenience to our customers and brokers, but because it includes client information, it was critical that the reports be completely secure. LGX Info offers the ability to define and enforce "role-based security" in the reports that only allows qualified users to view the report. This feature was key to making the extranet reporting application very practical."
"The fact that the reporting system is wWeb-based makes the system much easier to maintain than older client/server systems because the entire application can be centrally controlled. We are also easily able to refresh the reporting system with new features over time because each new release of LGX Info builds on the earlier version, adding new capabilities. We have been able to easily integrate an array of new features into our reports such as the Analysis Grid and dynamic charting and Dashboarding."
"Another strength of LogiXML is their support team. The company was very responsive from the start and even as they have grown dramatically, they have always been quick to respond to any technical issues we might have. This has been a very successful system for Vero Workers Compensation, and we see it getting better over time," concludes Naughton.
